All Are Welcome
You Are Welcome
You Are Not Alone
Transfiguration Lutheran Church welcomes all who seek to experience the joy of God’s love and grace. We welcome all because God welcomes all people of every race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship status.
Transfiguration has a Reconciling In Christ (RIC) support group that everyone is welcome to join. We meet once a month to discuss concerns, projects, what is going on in our community and are here to support anyone who would like a safe space to feel welcome. Feel free to contact the church or check out the website for more information. We meet the Second Monday of the month at 5:00pm.
In October 2014, Transfiguration Lutheran Church was officially accepted as a member of ReconcilingWorks and included in their directory of congregations. To learn more click here: ReconcilingWorks Lutherans for Full Participation.
ReconcilingWorks, initially named Lutherans Concerned for Gay People and subsequently Lutherans Concerned/North America, is an organization of laypeople, pastors, and congregations primarily from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, that is working for the full acceptance and inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions in the life of the Church. It is one of many LGBT-welcoming church movements to emerge in American Christianity in the late 20th century.
ReconcilingWorks's mission statement reads: "Working at the intersection of oppressions, ReconcilingWorks embodies, inspires, advocates and organizes for the acceptance and full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities within the Lutheran communion and its ecumenical and global partners."
Supporters of LGBTQIA+ people and families are not the minority in our Lutheran church, but are the growing majority. ReconcilingWorks is committed to this work, but we cannot do it without the support of partners like you.
