What’s new this year?

●At 9:30 all children go to class (see Reformation Walk section to find out about Sept-Oct for grades K-6).
●At 10:15 a.m., children K thru grade 6 will join their parents during the 9:30 worship service.
●Once-a-month parent time at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays (with child care); see bulletin for dates and place. This will be a time for parents to connect around issues of faith and parenting (and other topics suggested by parents).
●Possibility of Children’s choir practicing on Sunday mornings from 9-9:30 a.m. (need parent volunteers to make this happen - See registration form to sign up)
●Small Groups of all kinds (see this website and bulletins for more information)
TLC SEPTEMBER PROJECT
Sock it to Homelessness
●Bring in one or more pairs of new socks for kids and teens by September 24th
●Sunday school children will sort
●Lutheran Social Services will deliver
Lutheran Social Serviceshelps youth and teens experiencing homelessness. One way we can help? SOCKS! Children are encouraged to bring socks to Sunday school or drop them in the Narthex display box by September 24, 2017.
Let's collect 500 pair in honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation that formed the Lutheran Church.
This special Sunday school experience is designed for children K thru Grade 4
With Club 56 (Grades 5-6) assisting in leadership
STEP BACK 500 YEARS
It began Sunday, September 10th and continues each Sunday through October 29th.
Start at 9:30 a.m in Fellowship Hall
Games ●Stories ●Art ●Worship ● Music
●Prayer ●Cooking ●Counting ●Service
At Reformation Walk, during the 7 weeks that lead up to the 500th anniversary of the start of the Reformation, Sunday school kids (Kindergarten thru Grade 4 and Club 56) will:
● Experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of life during the time of Martin Luther.
● Visit with special people and places from the life of Martin Luther.
● Work on a mission project
● Experience the basics of Faith Alone, Scripture Alone, and Grace Alone through song, games, stories, creative stations.
● Prepare for a Reformation Celebration for Oct 29 at 10:30 for parents
● Be dismissed at 10:15 each week to join parents in worship for communion.
Children will receive a “passport” to use throughout the weeks. Filled passports will get a special commemorative coin on Oct 29th.
(Ages 3 and 4 will meet in their classrooms.)
SUNDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE
Sundays @ 9:30 a.m.
● 3 year olds -- Room 8
● 4 year olds-- Room 9
● 5yr/K--6th grade begin in Fellowship Hall
These children will enter the sanctuary worship service at 10:15 a.m.
Sundays @ 11:00 a.m.
Children attend worship with parents. Just before the sermon/message of the service, one of the pastors will request children to join him/her to leave the sanctuary and participate in the "EXPLORE!" the Bible text. Children will return to the worship service prior to communion.
Wednesday -- 7 to 8pm
EXPLORE! Time follows the completion of the Oasis worship service; usually 7:00 p.m. This does not begin until September 20.
